Coleman was born and raised in the town of the Lancashire town of Blackpool. She attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was the head girl. She also received straight As on her A-levels. When discussing her character from Emmerdale she expressed her regret at not attending a university. Coleman appeared as Crystal Clear at the Edinburgh Festival in a troupe called In Yer Space, which she participated in during her time in high school. She was awarded an award for her performance while the show was highly praised. While auditioning for drama school, Coleman was offered the role of Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale in 2005. Coleman was nominated twice in the year 2007. In 2007, Coleman was nominated for two awards: the British Soap Awards as the Best Newcomer, and the National Television Awards as the Most Popular. For the British Soap Awards of 2009 she was nominated under the categories Best Actress and Sexiest female in addition to the category for Best acting in a Drama. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat revealed at a Doctor Who Press Conference on March 21st, 2012 that Coleman was set to portray Matt Smith as the Doctor's companion after Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and others quit the series. Moffat selected her because of her ability to work with Smith and also because she was faster at speaking than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Since 1987, she's worked in film and television projects. She has however been more well-known on television than in films. Eva is best known for her roles as the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children as well as detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. She was nominated for two "Daytime Emmys" for her first part, and she also had a chance explore her artistic talents. Eva is not just acting, but she's also a businesswoman and philanthropist. She is a thrice-married woman who has a daughter from her second spouse.
